Ceramic Tile - Timeless Beauty

Flooring doesn’t get much more old-school than ceramic tiling: archeologists have unearthed ancient Mesopotamian structures with evidence of ceramic tile floors.  As its longevity suggests, ceramics are built tough.  In most cases, the tiles are composed of clay, sand, and natural mineral mixtures that are heat blasted and then glazed.  Today’s ceramic tiles can be glazed and finished to mimic the features of natural stone tiles, such as marble and granite.

Ceramic tile is a popular option because it’s made to last.  Its color is absolutely permanent, and will not darken or fade with time.  It’s fireproof, stain-resistant, moisture-resistant, frost-resistant, slip-resistant, electricity-resistant, odor-resistant, etc.  This remarkable durability, in conjunction with its ease of maintenance and relatively low cost, make ceramic tiling perfect for high-traffic interior areas such as foyers and kitchens.
